PARIS 2012
Students from the Art, Design & Photography - BTEC level 3 and 2 courses visited Paris for three days. The aim of the trip was to enable students the opportunity to gather resources and information that contributed to their initial preparation for their Final Major Project. The trip incorporated both their photographic and artistic practices surrounding the theme of ‘Boundaries’.
They visited some of the most iconic places in Paris including the Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral The Pompidou Center, exhibiting contemporary Art / Photography and The Louve Museum, the home of the incredible Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci.
Over the course of three days students also became Flaneurs, a French word meaning to experience, observe and record the urban environment. Students mapped the back streets of Paris, absorbing the architecture and the everyday oddities of the city through photographs and sketches.
These images will form a group multi-disciplinary piece at the end of year exhibition at Bexley college from the 20th – 22nd June. More details of the show will be available shortly.
